Terms and conditions read before you send

Booking and deposit. A 50% deposit confirms your date and is non-refundable. Until the deposit reaches us the date stays open to other enquiries, so a date is not held on a verbal or written promise alone.

The balance. The balance is due by the day before the event. If it has not reached us by then, we are not able to hold the date.

What the price covers. Each price covers delivery, setup, one operator on site for four hours, and takedown. Extra time is quoted before the event, never added to the bill afterwards.

Travel. Travel within Ottawa, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orleans, Stittsville, Gatineau, Hull and Aylmer is included. Venues outside that area are quoted separately before you commit.

Venue permission. Please confirm with your venue that the effects you have booked are allowed, and ask specifically about cold spark machines rather than fireworks — the two get very different answers. If the venue refuses the effect on the day, the deposit is not refundable, so it is worth settling this weeks ahead.

Space and safety. Cold spark units need roughly one metre of clearance around them and about three metres of height. Our operator has the final say on placement and may reduce or stop an effect if the room, the crowd or the venue makes it unsafe. That call is about your guests, not about the show.

Access and power. We need access to the room at least 90 minutes before guests arrive, and a standard power outlet within reach for the spark and fog machines. CO2 cannons run on their own gas and need no outlet.

If you cancel. The deposit is not refundable. Nothing further is owed if you cancel before the event day. If you need to move the date, tell us as early as you can and we will move the booking if that date is free.

If we cannot attend. In the unlikely event that we cannot attend, you get a full refund including the deposit. We would rather return your money than leave you short on the night.

Photos and video. We may use photos or clips of the effects to show our work. Tell us if you would rather we did not, and we will not.

Delays. We are not able to take responsibility for delays caused by the venue, other suppliers, or a schedule that runs late beyond our booked hours.

Prices. All prices are in Canadian dollars. The figure the page adds up for you is an estimate. The written quote we send you is the price.

Booking and payment

Holding your date

A 50% deposit confirms your date and is non-refundable. Until the deposit reaches us, the date stays open to other enquiries — we cannot hold it on a promise.

The balance

Due the day before the event. If it has not reached us by then, we are not able to hold the date, so please do not leave it to the morning of.

Longer than four hours

Four hours covers the part of the night these effects are actually used for. If you need us on site longer, tell us the timings when you send your date and we will price it into the quote rather than adding it afterwards.

Travel

Ottawa, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orleans, Stittsville, Gatineau, Hull and Aylmer are included in the prices above. Further out, tell us the venue and we will quote the travel separately.

Your venue’s rules

Cold sparks have no flame and very little heat, so most venues allow them where traditional pyrotechnics are banned. Ask your venue early, and ask about cold spark machines by name rather than fireworks — the two get very different answers, so it is worth settling on paper instead of on the night.

Combining services

Booking together is cheaper than booking separately, because it is one setup and one crew. Sparks with dry ice is $450 instead of $600. Ask about any other combination and we will price it.

Peak dates

Saturdays from May to October and through December go first. Prices do not change by date, but availability does — send us your date early, even if you are still deciding.
