Rarely, but it is worth checking. Dry ice low fog stays at floor level and dissipates as it warms, so it usually never reaches ceiling detectors. Older rooms sometimes have detectors placed low or in odd spots, so we ask your venue about detector type and placement during planning rather than finding out on the night.
